Since 2014, Christine Phung is the artistic director of Leonard Paris, the Haute-Couture and ready-to-wear brand. This time, the french fashion designer is at the head of the House’s creative direction and launches it’s first Spring-Summer 2017 Pre-Collection. Christine Phung is sharing with the brand her knowledge of luxury sportswear to create this colourful and light collection.
Geometrical and organic, the flower patterns are inspired by the Art Nouveau style as a way to insert sensibility in those everyday outfits. Of course, they also have japanese connotation mixed with Arabian nights colours such as the deep blue. The hazy volutes call upon our imagination and dreams traduced by the Cloud drawings.
With the Klein Blue, Deep Blue and Tyrian Pink, Christine Phung manages to create a unusual combination, added to some coral colours which seem to come from tropical gardens. The work is also enhanced by the architectural features of the dress and shirts.
The graphical strip, Leonard’s emblematic element, is also present in the collection, they highlight the lines of the one-colour pieces. Drapped or pleated the shapes are always moving and destructured giving the power to both the outfit and the body.
Modern and graphical this Pre-Collection is making us curious about the following collection. Leonard’s success also resides in its creative abilities as well as its will to keep its historical backgroung safe by offering feminin creations.
