Issey Miyake opens a new space in Tokyo

The 11th June, the first Homme Plissé Issey Miyake boutique opened in Tokyo. Situated in the neighbourhood of Daikanyama, the new space with two floors was created by the Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa.
As always the design of the building itself was deeply thought to match with the brand’s codes, Naoto Fukasawa explained : “The building, in the form of a trapezoid concrete box had no beams. Thin wide beams were consequently passed through,
thus partitioning the structure into a space above people’s line of sight and a space below, where clothes are hung in a neat,
orderly manner. It appears as if HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE clothes are floating in space.” As the conceptual Reality Lab.Issey Miyake,  situated in Aomaya district in Tokyo, the idea is to give the customers a real experience into the fashion designer universe.
Launched in November 2013 in Japan, the Homme Plissé line was created to fit with the “modern man” way of living, the clothes are specifically soft and allow a freedom of movement which enhances the dynamism of the body.
