Missoni Uomo Spring/Summer 2014

Missoni took us on a trip through the jungle for its last runway show. If the runway setting was any indication of the inclination this season would have (bamboo floor), then the least that could be said about the Missoni Uomo Spring/Summer 2014 collection was exotic without falling into the extremes of kitsch.
Knits are the speciality of the house of Missoni, and even for a Spring Summer collection, we managed to see that cashmere was a staple of the fashion house. Tartan came in oversize and irregular shapes in shades of blue and grey. This season was the occasion for Missoni to put an important effort on the prints and patterns as we witnessed stripes, Prince de Galles, checkboards and zigzags, some of them being directly integrated to the knits.
Colors and shapes are smooth at Missoni. The Missoni gentleman is all about being laidback yet elegant without ostentation. The details are where his dapperness is fully expressed. Sweaters with a round collars are worn under blazers and loose cardigans, we get to see many cigarette and carrot pants always belted and divine shorts pop which expose miles and miles of legs.
The casting included Benoni Loos, Demy Matzen, Bastiaan Van Gaalen, Reece Sanders and Jester White, a bunch of cool and relaxed young men to perfectly embody the Missoni attitude for this season.
