Daks Menswear Spring/Summer 2014

What happens when Sherlock Holmes meet menswear ? The Daks Spring/Summer 2014 collection. Within the eerie context of an abandoned church, Daks opened its show in a very dramatic way as four violin players started to play the famous Toccata of Jean Sebastien Bach, throwing the people in attendance in a gloomy mood that was the basis of this collection.
Echoing to the colors of the British weather composed of grey, green, whites and black, the Daks Spring/Summer 2014 collection seems to be coming straight from a detective story book. Trenches, double breasted jackets and silk bathrobes, Daks seem to take us back to the beginning of the last century, to an era when gentlemen dressed up on a daily basis.
For the more summery looks, they were completed by black and white fedoras and incredibly tight swimsuits(…). Prints were also a strong pattern of this collection be them Prince de Galles, checkerboards, stripes or the custom “D” print of the fashion house.
The collection called out for a casting of timeless faces, in this case : Arthur Gosse, Luuk Van Os, Jamie Wise, Charlie France, Alexander Beck, Guerrino Santulliana, James Smith, Elliott Vullyod and Ton Heukels.
