Earlier this week, hidden gem Portobello Road store Chic Freak celebrated in flamboyant style the arrival of 13 exclusive pieces from London based designer Ada Zanditon’s Spring/Summer 13 collection. Whilst Ada’s video ‘Tigress Reign’ was on screen, guests were entertained with live music by the Delta Ladies and cocktails in the cutest pink glasses.
A window installation, ‘The Golden Girls Easter’ created by Ada and her team also marked the event. This was the perfect display for the designer’s new collection. Chic Freak has this very special feel going, somewhere between a cabaret dressing room – the owner, Tamarisk East Rigby, is also a makeup artist and the shop includes a fabulous make up stand – and a boudoir.
“I love the eclectic and bohemian boutique that the Chic Freak team have created – their store is unique, fun and a treasure trove of innovative London based brands. I was thrilled when they approached me about carrying my SS13 collection Tigress Reign and it’s been great fun creating the golden girls Easter window display.” said designer Ada Zanditon.
Tamarisk East Rigby’s Chic Freak store is fast becoming the go to destination boutique in West London. Stocking the best of British including Pam Hogg, Rodnik Band, Bordelle and Claudine, the store also aims to encourage and support fun and upcoming London brands. Tamarisk described Ada Zanditon as “the epitome of Chic Freak with her black hair and dark pointy nails”, before adding: “yet her latest collection is so feminine and reminds me of an Indian summer of pastel sweets. The shapes are super feminine and are super flirty and sexy. It’s like a fire-work of colours.”
